将来，RFID航空行李的应用需求也将会呈倍率提高。近些年，国际性、中国航空对高性能RFID设备的技术的导进趋势十分强悍。据《中国民航网》详细介绍，目前已有好几家航空企业的好几条航道导进RFID技术对行李进行跟踪管理。与此同时，民航局在2021年的工作会议上表明，也正在由上而下加快促进这一技术落地式，并要求规模以上企业的空港必须要在近些年内完成RFID行李管理全面的基本建设。伴随着越来越多航道开展无源RFID设备合理布局，将来中国民航运输针对货物的追踪能力和数据管理能力将显出一个快速升级效果。除此之外，IATA的货运业务与技术委员会还在2年以前出台了有关的技术标准，并要求全球各会员在2023年底前配置RFID航空行李追踪技术。
