Premium efficiency

The RFD40 base is capable of reading over 1,300 tags per second, with the ability to read beyond 20 feet and an ultra-accurate item finding mode. Equipped with a 7,000mAh battery and a quick-release feature, it can be used without disassembling the mobile data terminal and can last for hours of operation. The triple function trigger gives store personnel quick access to RFID reading, barcode scanning and your choice of a third programmable function such as enter key or push-to-talk.

Adaptive Solutions

The RFD40 base fully supports Zebra's existing mobile data terminals, as well as newly introduced mobile data terminals. The easy-to-change, tool-free base adapter allows store personnel to quickly change adapters while maintaining compatibility without having to send the device to IT for modification.

Reliable Durability

Zebra devices are built to withstand a variety of everyday environmental conditions. the RFD40 base can withstand a drop from a height of 5 feet to a concrete floor and 500 rolls from a height of 0.5 meters/1.6 feet, fully capable of handling the bumps and bruises of real-world situations. This product is sealed with IP54 dust and water resistance rating and supports a wider operating temperature range of -10°C to 50°C/14°F to 122°F. With these durability features, you can be assured that the RFD40 base will meet the demanding needs of your workplace with peace of mind.

Next Generation Connectivity

With the new eConnex™ technology with swipe and go pairing, you can future-proof your workplace with a base that supports the new Zebra mobile data terminals, including WWAN-enabled models. In addition, the dock can instantly connect to supported devices with ZebraeConnex™ technology, including the TC21/26, EC50/55 and future models.

Flexible and future-proof charging solution

The RFD40 dock's charging solution gives users the flexibility to power the dock and mobile data terminals in a variety of ways. Each cradle is equipped with two sets of charging pins that can charge the RFD40 base and mobile data terminal individually or a combination of RFD40 base and mobile data terminal connected together. Holders are provided for each combination of RFD40 base and mobile data terminal (including TC21/26 and EC50/55).

By using the USB-C port on the bottom of the RFD40 dock, and the connector with pins, allows the RFD40 to be used as a wired reader for a Windows PC or other host computer via a USB-C cable or cable holder.

Advanced development and support tools

Quickly transition to the next generation without having to rewrite the main application. the RFD40 base's software development kit (SDK) is based on the current ZebraRFID handheld SDK. you simply recompile your current application with the new SDK to get up and running on the new RFD40 base.

The RFD40 dock can now be connected to 123RFID Desktop Edition via USB cable or cradle for you to configure the dock in real time and offline. Use 123RFID Desktop Edition for proof of concept, demonstrations, and to perform firmware upgrades.

Don't have a host? No problem!

Batch mode supports the collection of up to 40,000 RFID tags if a live connection to the back-end system is not available. Simply perform a sync to upload data from the RFD40 base to the host device at any time.

New New Rack Solution

When you're ready to upgrade, Zebra's transformative cradle makes it easy to replace your mobile data terminal. Using only coin-opening screws, the transformation can be done without tools or plugging in or unplugging any harnesses, making it a simplified and enhanced experience for all users.

The bracket used to support the RFD40 base is available in single-slot and multi-slot sizes, as well as charging and communication-only versions. To support communication capabilities, the single-slot communication model cradle features a micro USB port for connection to a host PC. the multi-slot communication model cradle features an Ethernet port for connection to an enterprise network. This connection allows you to manage the RFD40 dock in the cradle and also supports setting configurations, pushing firmware upgrades, and getting information about the device's operating status. As a result, you can more easily get more information about your device.

Secure Battery Locking Foot

The RFD40 dock features an optional battery locking foot that locks the battery in place and helps prevent damage and/or theft by the user.
